Who says you can't teach an old dog new trick? :) It didn't take you that long to put in the google ads.If you want to get rid of the ugly blogger nav bar, follow the second instruction here:http://blogger-templates.blogspot.com/2005/01/remove-navbar.html
Your blog is probably too literate for google adsense to handle. It's going to be hard for it to generate targed ads. So don't expect great returns.
